What would the world be like without flowers? What would the world be like without beautiful women? There is a co-relation between the two. There are many.

The lines of a woman and the lines of a flower are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. As is the scent to our nose. A flower can be so fragile we imagine it might bruise and crumble beneath our touch.

The beauty of woman, like a flower, is transient, momentary. It is something we may wish to possess but we know the moment we do it will change form and become something quite different.

Is the female sex organ not a flower, something inviting, moist and warm, a mystery we can never unravel, a joy beyond understanding or words, a bloom as complex as the rose.

The rose some say is the most beautiful of all flowers. The smell is subtle and sweet. But on the stem of the rose is a row of sharp teeth, the thorn that will draw our blood if we get too close.

In Didier Carré's photographs he reveals the discreet resemblance a flower has to a woman and after studying his nudes the flowers in the field will never appear quite the same again.
